Sabinsa hopes to gain a stronger foothold in the personal care sector thanks to a new distribution agreement with Degussa Goldschmidt Personal Care. The latter is to distribute specialised, standardised botanical extracts developed specificially for cosmeceutical uses by Sabinsa, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sami Labs, India.
The intention is to develop efficacious active ingredients and then ensure they get into the hands of a broad customer base. The extracts have been developed at Sami Labs' research Centre in Bangalore and Degussa will be responsible for their distribution worldwide.
“Working with Degussa Goldschmidt Personal Care not only allows for deeper and more broad market penetration for our line of cosmeceuticals but permits us to focus on our core competency of developing safe and effective ingredients for the global market,” Says Madhu Subramanian, executive vp of global operations, Sabinsa.
Willy Klipp, senior vp and general manger of Degussa's business line Goldschmidt Personal Care adds: “This agreement essentially allows us to offer novel nature derived active ingredients to our broad customer base and reinforce our position as a preferred partner for the development of innovative products and new applications.”
This partnership is seen as the first step in a closer collaborative venture between Goldschmidt and Sabinsa.
