Organic personal care brand Dr Bronner's is set to roll out a new packaging label in an effort to address climate change.
The family run business has long celebrated its label, which features lengthy details of the brand founder's Emanuel Heilbronner's ethos, known as the 'Moral ABC'.
From spring, US consumers will find that Dr Bronner’s Castile Liquid Soap label will be replaced with a limited edition 'Heal Earth!' label.
"The label temporarily replaces the iconic Moral ABC label," said the brand. "With messaging that educates consumers about regenerative organic agriculture, and explains why the shift to this form of agriculture is imperative to improving and ensuring soil health, animal welfare and fair labour, and is necessary to holistically replace factory farming and mitigate climate change."
The company has also pledged US$50,000 to Plastics Free Ballot Initiative, a campaign that is urging the State of California to regulate and reduce disposable products, as well as introduce a 1% fee on single use packaging.
Money raised from the tax is said to be used to support recycling and composting infrastructure and expand climate resilience.
