Dr. LeWinn’s sold to Valeant Pharmaceuticals

Pharmaceutical company Valeant Pharmaceuticals International has announced it has agreed to acquire Australian skin care company Private Formula International Holdings Ltd, whose portfolio includes Dr. LeWinn’s.


Pharmaceutical company Valeant Pharmaceuticals International has announced it has agreed to acquire Australian skin care company Private Formula International Holdings Ltd, whose portfolio includes Dr. LeWinn’s.

The agreement valued at $69m, also includes the purchase of Hissyfit, a newly launched anti-ageing skin care line, and Revitanail, a line of nail strengtheners, which also trade under the Renuanail name in the UK and US. The deal is expected to be finalised early this month.

“We look forward to adding Dr. LeWinn’s prestigious line of skin care products to Valeant’s growing dermatology portfolio, said J Michael Pearson, Valeant chairman and ceo. “This acquisition will allow Valeant Australia to become a leading dermatology company in Australia with brands that are complementary to our current portfolio.”
