David Pybus last night secured investment from dragons Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones on BBC 2's Dragons' Den to help him bring his Scents of Time project to the marketplace.
Pybus has worked with perfumers from fragrance house Givaudan (formerly Quest International) to recreate the fragrances in the collection of historical scents. The project will bring more than 12 long lost fragrances back to life.
Pybus describes himself as a 21st century alchemist and aromancer and says he is also known as the Indiana Jones of the perfume industry, having spent much time searching for, collecting and recreating perfumes from history. He has also authored a number of books, including one he hopes to be published this year called Scents of Time which tells the stories behind these particular discoveries.
"My mission in life is to get people to stop their frenetic living from time to time and to smell the roses, or the coffee!" says Pybus.
