Ecocert certifies Alpaflor

Pentapharm company Alpaflor has received Ecocert certification on a number of its raw materials. They are certified as: 'Raw material for Natural and Organic Cosmetics certified by Ecocert SAS DE32600.

Pentapharm company Alpaflor has received Ecocert certification on a number of its raw materials. They are certified as: 'Raw material for Natural and Organic Cosmetics certified by Ecocert SAS DE32600.

Among the materials that have received certification are: white genepi, butterfly bush, hyssop, white hore hound, elder flowers, thyme, masterwort, plantain and the newly developed mallow extract (Malva AO).

Malva AO (mallow) is claimed to have emollient and moisturising properties. Concentrated in mucilages and polysaccharides, this extract is said to be particularly suitable for soothing products, baby care lines, moisturising and care an sensitive skin. Recommended usage is 1-3%.

Alpaflor only develops materials from plants organically cultivated in the Swiss Alps at altitudes between 1000 - 1500m. Crops are controlled by bio-inspecta in Switzerland and certified by Bio.Suisse. Alpaflor says it supports mountain agriculture in the Swiss Valais and ensures sustainable development of local resources. It is actively involved in the development of projects with local agronomic research institutes and organic cultivation cooperatives.
