The Marvel actress will star in the skin care brand’s latest campaign following its launch into US department store Saks Fifth Avenue

Missha, the K-beauty skin care brand, has appointed Marvel actress Elizabeth Olsen as its latest brand ambassador as it continues to expand its US presence.

The WandaVision star will front the brand’s new Beauty is Reality campaign, which aims to capture beautiful moments in everyday life, as opposed to overly dramatised or unrealistic luxurious images often associated with beauty, according to the brand.

Missha said that Olsen had been chosen for her ambition and intelligence, rather than her beauty or fame, in line with the campaign’s message.

"When Missha approached me with an ambassador opportunity, the most important factor was the message the brand wanted to convey," said Olsen.

"Missha's Beauty is Reality represents an innovative and practical message that I can support."

"Attaining exceptional quality doesn't necessarily require a hefty price tag.

“Missha's aim is to create outstanding products that are accessible to everyone, and it's an honour to communicate this value to young women like myself."

Olsen’s appointment is part of the brand’s ongoing US expansion, after launching into NYC department store Saks Fifth Avenue in September last year.

The brand has also added to its US e-commerce offering with its best selling collection of ampoules, which aim to provide tailored solutions for specific skin care concerns.

These include Vita C Plus Spot Correcting & Firming Ampoule; Artemisia Calming Ampoule; Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X; Time Revolution Primestem 100 Lifting Serum; and Bee Pollen Renew Ampouler (US$69 each).

Who is Elizabeth Olsen?

As the younger sister of acting twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen – and the namesake of their fashion and beauty brand, Elizabeth and James, alongside their older brother – Olsen is no stranger to the limelight.

Beginning her acting career at just four years old, Olsen landed her breakout role as Wanda Maximoff – aka the Scarlet Witch – in superhero blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.

She has gone on to reprise the role in several Marvel projects, including Avengers, Captain America and Doctor Strange films, earning an Emmy nomination for her performance in Disney+ miniseries WandaVision.

Outside of her work with Marvel, the 34-year-old has also starred in movies including Godzilla, Wind River and Ingrid Goes West, and drama series Sorry For Your Loss.

She also joined Bobbi Brown as an ambassador in 2019, starring alongside fellow actresses Yara Shahidi and NiNi in the brand’s Confident Beauty campaign promoting its foundation collections.
