Frankfurt Hair and Beauty show rescheduled for February 2009

The Hair and Beauty fair scheduled to take place in Frankfurt in late April this year and which was postponed after what was described as "half-hearted support" from the brand name industry will return in 2009, according to Michael Peters, a spokesman for Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

However, it will be moved from its traditional April date to take place in parallel with the consumer goods fair Beautyworld in early February. Intending participants will have to report from October and Dr Peters said it hoped to welcome Wella back as an exhibitor.

The Frankfurt fair company is understood to have decided to reschedule the Hair and Beauty trade fair after consultations with the notional sponsor of the event, the German hairdressing trade federation (ZVDFH). The fair company took over Hair and Beauty from the previous organisers Dr Kater Marketing in early 2006. The first exhibition attracted some 37,000 visitors and was the largest national event of its kind in 2007.
