Fred Segal creates DIY scent
California based clothing firm Fred Segal has launched The Blend, a do-it-yourself fragrance kit.
It comprises ten scents in rollerball format that users can mix and match on their skin. The kit is said to be inspired by the Memoire Liquide bespoke scent bar the retailer set up at its Santa Monica store, launched in 1984 and which also makes use of the same rollerball format.
Visitors to the store can blend their own fragrances, starting at $30, and the firm also undertakes private commissions. In The Blend kit, the ten fragrances are numbered and represent the best sellers from the scent bar.
Number one is a watery floral, number two is a green accord, number three is vanilla and amber honey, number four is herby and earthy, number five is tropical white flowers, number six is a white musk, number seven is a white tea blend, number eight is based on Turkish rose, number nine is an oceanic accord and number ten is a citrus with mandarin and grapefruit.
