Givaudan’s results for first nine months of 2026 bolstered by fine fragrances

The Swiss flavours and fragrance company reported better-than-expected revenue for January to September 2026, driven by growth in its fine fragrances arm

Givaudan has reported better-than-expected revenue for the first nine months of 2026, underpinned by the company’s fragrance offering.

The Swiss flavours and fragrance company reported a total sales figure of CHF 5.9m (Swiss francs) between January to September 2026, with CHF 3.1m of that figure from its fragrance and beauty arm – an 8.8% increase in like-for-like sales growth compared to the predicted 4.7%.

It also revealed a 15.3% rise in its fine fragrance arm, which emerged as a key driver for the business over the period, and built on strong growth of 18.7% in the same period the year prior.

Tickets are now available for the 25th anniversary of the Pure Beauty Awards, taking place on 15 October 2026 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, UK. Join the beauty industry for an evening of recognition and celebration as this year’s winners are revealed. Click here to secure your place.

Givaudan’s consumer goods business also reported growth of 9.3%, up from 5.9%, while sales performance for fragrance ingredients and active beauty signalled a weakness in the company’s offering as it fell -2.5%.

“We are pleased with the accelerating momentum in our sales growth in the first nine months of 2026, with sustained strong performance in our fragrance and beauty business, and sequentially improving performance in taste and wellbeing, in line with expectations,” said Givaudan CEO Christian Stammkoetter.

“With ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges, these results once again demonstrate the value that Givaudan’s unique capabilities bring to all of our customers in supporting their growth ambitions across all product segments and geographies.”

Regionally, Givaudan’s performance in the Asia-Pacific region saw significant growth, with sales increasing 10.6% during the nine month period.

North America has signalled reason for concern as Givaudan group sales saw growth of just 1.1%, compared to 3.5% for the same nine month period the year previous, while Latin America saw 0% growth like-for-like.

Looking ahead, Givaudan’s strategy over the next five years is “driving sustainable growth with customers” as the company looks to achieve this through “creative, high value added products and solutions that consumers love and that stand the test of time”, read a company statement.

The company is aiming for 4% to 6% average like-for-like sales growth and more than 12% average adjusted free cash flow over the five-year period, with a focus on environmental and human protection while also  strategic acquisition opportunities that align with its strategic focus areas.

Earlier this year, Givaudan agreed to acquire a majority stake in Spanish fragrance house Eurofragrance as part of its strategy to “expand its presence and capabilities across local and regional markets to drive sustained business growth”.
