Greentech has returned from the trip it sponsored to study evolution through examining water, ice and microscopic life on the Greenland ice cap.

Quantities of biological naturals were collected on the ice cap where moulins (crevasses) - up to 130 metres deep - were investigated.

The company is now cultivating the collected bacteria and microalgae, which show extreme metabolic characteristics resulting from specific enzymes and unique molecules. It hopes to find applications for cosmetic formulations, for preserving the right skin balance, and plans to develop new ingredients scheduled to launch in 2009 and 2010.
