Inter Parfums reports strong Q2 results

Fragrance manufacturer and distributor Inter Parfums has announced a 20% increase net sales for the second quarter of 2008, to $99.1m. At comparable foreign currency exchange rates, net sales were up by 12%.

Sales of fragrances from the Burberry brand were particularly strong, with the new fragrance, Burberry The Beat and the continued popularity of Burberry Brit driving growth, according to Jean Madar, chairman and ceo, Inter Parfums.

In other news, the company has announced the extension of its 12-year license with the Paul Smith brand. Inter Parfums will now create, produce and distribute perfumes and cosmetics for the brand until 2017.
