Israel to maintain strict position on certain cosmetics imports

While perfumes and solid soap import regulations are on track to be relaxed, deodorants, cosmetics and toothpaste remain strictly regulated

Israeli consumers’ prospects of enjoying cheaper cosmetics imports appear to have been dealt a blow, following news that the Israeli Health Ministry is planning to exempt large categories of products from planned reforms.

Currently, cosmetic and toiletries can only be brought into Israel by company-approved official importers. The result is that prices are around 62% higher in Israel than in OECD nations.
