Italy ups cosmetics production
Unipro president highlights structure oriented towards growth
Cosmetics industry production in Italy rose 5.2% in 2010 to a value of some €8.5bn while domestic consumption of cosmetics products rose by 1.1% while exports increased by over 17% to some €2.4bn. Investment in advertising and promotion went up 6.8% to €1.5bn. These figures were confirmed at the AGM of Italy’s industry association Unipro in Milan.
Fabio Rossello, who was elected president of Unipro, said the report confirmed the reality of a structure oriented towards growth. Rossello, who originally trained as an electronics engineer, was formerly md of Schiaparelli SpA and is currently president of Pagliari Immobiliare SpA.
