Teams up with ORBIS to help prevent trachoma in Ethiopia

Make-up artist and brand owner Jemma Kidd has teamed up with sight charity ORBIS to launch the Jemma Kidd VISIONfund, which aims to prevent and eliminate trachoma – the most common cause of infectious blindness – in Ethiopia.

Trachoma is a highly contagious disease, which can be cured in its early stages using antibiotics but which eventually causes the eyelashes to turn inwards and scratch the cornea, leading to immense pain and eventually blindness.

The fund has adopted a ‘One Product. One Vision’ approach. From now on, for every Jemma Kidd make-up product purchased from www.jemmakidd.com or any masterclass@HOME class booked, the brand will donate £1.25, which provides a family of five with sight saving antibiotics for a whole year.
