Jenna Ortega has been named Dior’s latest International Beauty Ambassador.
The Hollywood actress will work closely with Dior make-up under the guidance of its Creative and Image Director, Peter Philips.
Ortega, who is known for starring roles in Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice and the Scream franchise, as well as the Netflix series Wednesday, “embodies the bold elegance of the House”, Dior said in a statement.
“It is a tailor-made role for this rising star who, through her values and her personality, is already inspiring an entire generation.”
Commenting on her appointment, Ortega said: “The House of Dior symbolises audacity, elegance, and timelessness, and being part of it is both incredibly exciting and surreal.
“The first time I wore lipstick, I must have been ten or 11 and it was for work, because I started acting when I was so little.
“I was wearing my mom’s lipstick, we were just in the bathroom of the studio and she put it on me.”
The appointment extends the existing relationship between the luxury fashion house and the actress, who has often appeared on the red carpet wearing Dior couture.
Ortega last week made headlines after donning an iconic Dior dress for the premier of her new film Hurry Up Tomorrow in New York.
Christon Dior’s newspaper dress was designed by John Galliano during his tenure as Creative Director at the fashion house.
Shown on the autumn 2000 runway, it was made famous after being worn by Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, in Sex and the City.
She also appeared in a campaign for the Dare Gris Dior fragrance in 2023.
Ortega, who is also an ambassador for Neutrogena, is the latest addition to Dior’s roster of ambassadors.
American actress and singer Ashley Park was named global ambassador last month, representing both its fashion and beauty divisions.
Park, best known for her role as Mindy Chen in Netflix television show Emily in Paris, has been a consistent presence at Dior events and red carpets, often wearing the French luxury house’s designs.
Her appointment formalises an ongoing relationship with the LVMH-owned label.
Glenn Close and Venus Williams joined Charlize Theron as Dior Capture ambassadors at the start of the year.
Film star Anya Taylor-Joy and musician Willow Smith are also Dior Beauty Ambassadors.
