Jennifer Lopez has dropped a surprise launch for her skin care brand JLo Beauty, with the release of her new Firm + Flaunt Targeted Booty Balm.
Lopez said the balm (US$65) has been designed to hydrate skin and fade the appearance of stretch marks for a ‘smoother, more refined-looking booty’.
The newly-wed American singer, actress and dancer, who tied the knot with Hollywood actor Ben Affleck in Las Vegas last week, revealed the product yesterday on her 53rd birthday.
Guarana seed extract, pink pepperslim, shea butter, avocado seed extract and squalane feature in the balm’s formula.
Despite the heavy marketing for its use and benefits on the buttocks, the product can also be used on the waist, hips, thighs and arms.
The launch follows years of unfounded rumours among media and fans that Lopez insured her bottom for millions of dollars.
“We give all this care and attention to the skin on our face, but we sometimes neglect the body,” said Lopez in an Instagram post.
“It was important to me to create a skin care routine for the body to address its specific and unique needs, and we started with the booty!”
The balm is the latest release to join Lopez’s skin care brand JLo Beauty, which launched in December 2020.
The original product line up included eight skus, six skin care products, a beauty supplement and make-up skin care hybrid, with names to match Lopez’s glamorous music career.
That Hit Single Gel-Creme Cleanser, That Fresh Take Eye Cream and That Blockbuster Wonder Cream were just a few of the names that highlighted the ‘Hustler’ star's celebrated career.
