KapStone Paper buys MWV mill

MeadWestvaco (MWV) has sold its kraft paper mill in North Charleston, South Carolina to KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation for $485m.


MeadWestvaco (MWV) has sold its kraft paper mill in North Charleston, South Carolina to KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation for $485m.

Under the terms of the sale, KapStone also acquired a lumber mill in Summerville and chip mills in Elgin, Hampton, Andrews and Kinards, South Carolina, as well as 100% of the paper mill’s on-site cogeneration facility.
