Beauty and personal care manufacturer kdc/one and India’s Clarion Group have announced a joint venture to strengthen beauty packaging and formulation capabilities in the Indian market.
The newly formed entity, kdc/one Clarion Beauty Pvt Ltd, will provide packaging manufacturing and formulation innovation for beauty and personal care brands.
The agreement was signed in Chennai by Sandra Wisniewski, Global President of Beauty & Personal Care at kdc/one, and K N Lakshmanan, Chairman of the Clarion Group.
The partnership is said to combine kdc/one’s global expertise in R&D, formulation, and packaging design with Clarion’s established local manufacturing presence and market knowledge.
The companies aim to offer cost-effective and high-quality solutions to both domestic and international brands operating in India.
As part of the collaboration, a new manufacturing facility in Gujarat is set to be developed over the next 12 months.
The plant will focus on injection moulded and metallised beauty packaging, catering to the increasing demand for premium packaging solutions in India.
The joint venture will cover packaging for colour cosmetics, skin care, and personal care, while also incorporating Clarion’s local formulation expertise alongside kdc/one’s global innovation capabilities.
Commenting on the partnership, Wisniewski said: “We are delighted to join forces with Clarion Group and combine our individual and collective strengths to enable brand owners to grow their global business in the fast-developing Indian marketplace.
“We look forward to bringing the bespoke packaging design, quality and development credentials of both kdc/one and HCT, and benefitting from Clarion’s significant track record in India, highly strategic personal care manufacturing footprint and deeply experienced local management team.”
K N Lakshmanan, Chairman of Clarion Group, highlighted the complementary strengths of the two companies, stating: “Our two companies not only have complementary manufacturing, formulation and packaging strengths in the beauty and personal care products sector, but we also share a commitment to providing the highest level of innovation, quality, service, agility and regulatory compliance.
“We are excited by the huge potential of this joint venture and believe that together, we will be the partner of choice for brand owners.
“Whether they are already operating in the Indian market or looking to enter the region, we aim to help bring their vision to life.”
