Linx Printing Technologies has launched a bottle coding solution designed to cope with wet and humid environments.
The Linx 4900BC comprises a robust continuous ink jet (CIJ) printer with a sticky ink for permanent coding and an air knife drying system.
The system is supplied with Linx Black versatile beverage ink 1058, said to boast superior adherence. The ink, which can be used on glass, PET and PLA, penetrates condensation to provide good print quality and excellent permanence up until removal in a caustic bottle washer.
Condensation forming on cold fill bottles can also present a challenge for coders. The Linx 4900BC features a printhead and air knife system to ensure that the required area on the bottle is dry before printing.
