Ingredients company scoops award at in-cosmetics Latin America

Lipotec has announced that its Reproage peptide has been honoured with Bronze at the recent edition of the Institute of Technology and Studies for Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrances (ITEHPEC) Innovation Awards 2017 presented at the in-cosmetics Latin America show in Brazil.

The award promotes innovation in the cosmetics, toiletries and fragrance industry as well as acknowledges the advances of ingredients manufacturers.

Also recognised with Bronze at the last Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Awards announced during the in-cosmetics Global show, Reproage peptide aims to help the self-renewing properties of the epidermis last longer and assist in obtaining a smoother, more radiant and visually rejuvenated complexion.

The epidermis is one of the most active body tissues in terms of regeneration, thanks to the ability of the stem cells from the basal layer to divide and renew themselves.

This process is controlled by specific transcription factors that are regulated at the epigenetic level. With age, the regenerative potential and the overall function of the epidermis are reduced, resulting in the development of signs of ageing.

Reproage peptide can stimulate cellular reprogramming in the epidermal basal layer through the modulation of epigenetic elements, helping to reactivate basal cells and their regenerative abilities, which can lead to an improved appearance of mature skin.

The clinical assays showed a general improvement in skin complexion with increased luminosity and smoothness, reducing the externally perceived age of the volunteers that applied the cream containing the active ingredient.
