Louis Vuitton unveils $400 Beauty Sharpener and LV Crayon lip pencil collection

Luxury make-up line Louis Vuitton La Beauté’s Beauty Sharpener is described as a ‘beauty essential elevated to an object of art’, and accompanies the French fashion house’s new LV Crayon range of lip pencils

Louis Vuitton has unveiled a new range of lip pencils accompanied by a $400 sharpener as part of its luxury make-up line La Beauté.

The launch of LV Crayon continues the luxury French fashion house’s “journey into beauty with a new chapter for La Beauté”, the company said in a statement.

Due to demand, the entry deadline for the Pure Beauty Awards has been extended until 24 July! Don't miss your chance to gain recognition from industry experts and consumers alike. Click here for more information.

The collection includes ten LV Crayon shades designed to complement Louis Vuitton’s LV Rouge lipstick and LV Baume lip balms, and is said to “redefine beauty as a lifestyle, an experience, and a dedicated art form, setting a new standard in luxury beauty”.

MUA Dame Pat McGrath, Creative Director, Cosmetics at La Beauté Louis Vuitton, said: “Every look I have ever created on the Louis Vuitton runway begins with the lip line – it is where precision becomes art.

“The LV Crayon is a tool that deserves to be in the hands of every woman.

“It is both seamless to use and beautiful to hold.”

Each LV Crayon (€50) is shaped like Louis Vuitton’s floral monogram motif, and the range offers ten highly pigmented shades, ranging from nude (190 Beige Atlas) to deep burgundy (896 Monogram Rouge).

“I have always believed that the most powerful tools in any make-up artist's kit are the ones that enhance without overpowering,” said Dame Pat.

“The LV Crayon shades were built from that philosophy – the finest nudes and rosewoods, each one chosen with absolute precision, anchored by a fearless edit of iconic LV reds that bring the unexpected and deliver the drama.”

The lip pencil collection is also enhanced by a range of accessories, including a €400 Beauty Sharpener.

Described as a "beauty essential elevated to an object of art”, the sharpener’s design “reflects the House’s devotion to craftsmanship and innovation”.

Created in brass and Zamac – a zinc-based alloy – it features a discreet sliding cap and a click-open reservoir for a “functional yet elegant shape”.

Plus, a gold-coloured Lip Blending Brush (€100) designed for blending the liner’s edge and different shades also features the Louis Vuitton motif.

A “collector’s piece” Lip Pencil Case (€850), featuring the brand’s famous monogram canvas, comes with all 10 LV Lip Crayon shades, completing the range.

The latest beauty launch from Louis Vuitton comes after La Beauté’s debut last year, which included eight LV Ombres eyeshadow compacts (€220 each), ten sheer LV Baume lip balms (€140 each), and the LV Rouge lipstick, available in 55 shades (€140).
