Ethical UK cosmetics brand Lush is the latest company to expand to India to access the country’s burgeoning economy. A series of trade deals between the UK and India have paved the way for Lush to open its first shop in Mumbai later this year, after ten years of trading in the country.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, who led a three-day visit to India organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), India’s 1.2 billion consumers and the fact that Mumbai is “among the top ten preferred locations for entrepreneurs in the world" bodes well for the bath and body care manufacturer and other UK enterprises expanding to India.

On the third day of Clegg’s visit, UK’s measuring company Renishaw announced a 3D printing centre to be opened in India.
