Luxury French fashion house Marc-Antoine Barrois Paris is entering the UK market from France with a debut fragrance flagship.

Opening this September at the popular Piccadilly Arcade shopping destination, customers will be able to shop the brand’s perfume and home fragrance collections.

The London store will be a replica of the namesake founder's perfume boutique at the Galerie Véro-Doda, a famous retail arcade in Paris featuring designer boutiques.

The dreamlike imagery of Alice in Wonderland has inspired the brand’s British store design.

A giant blue statue of a rabbit, made to appear as if it is hanging upside through the use of mirrors, will be the standout feature of the flagship store.

Architect and artist Antoine Bouillot, founder of the Honneur Society studio, was commissioned to create the rabbit.

Fragrances will be displayed on handcrafted sculptures made from wood, alabaster stone and glass.

“These natural raw materials are used to create key design features such as wood carvings, varnished plane trees and glass wall panels made with maple sugar and ginger, which brings a unique aesthetic design combining a modern traditional style,” the brand said in a statement.

Barrois, who was born into a family of textile artists in northern France, established his men's haute couture label in 2006.

He broke into perfumery in 2016 with the launch of B683, a woody scent created in partnership with nose Quentin Bisch.

Barrois expanded into home fragrances a year later with the launch of N°VI candle, followed by the release of the N°XIII candle in 2019.

Encelade is the most recent EDP to join the brand’s luxury fragrance line, which debuted in May 2022.
