Merck goes for gold with new pigment

Merck has launched a new effect pigment, Colorona Precious Fine Gold, said to impart an exceptionally warm gold tone with a silky sheen. The pigment combines natural mica substrate with a special structure of metal oxide layers and particle sizes of 5 - 25µm. Merck says that Colorona Precious Fine Gold differs from other gold pigments because of its pure colour effect and intensity. It is claimed to impart an intense colour effect even in extremely low concentrations.

Merck says that Colorona Precious Fine Gold differs from other gold pigments because of its pure colour effect and intensity. It is claimed to impart an intense colour effect even in extremely low concentrations.

According to the company, the pigment can be used to give a metallic lustre to eyeliners, mascaras and shampoos and will be in compliance with REACH.
