German speciality chemicals company Merck has optimised the brand structure of its cosmetic pigments and created a new portfolio for its functional fillers. According to Merck, basing its cosmetic pigments around brand families will enable customers to ascertain each product’s effect.

The brand families include Timiron, silver and interface pigments that impart pearlescence; Colorona, pigments that provide vivid pearlescence; Ronastar, which combines intense colours; Xirona, which allow for colour changes depending on the viewing angle; and RonaFlair, a newly introduced brand comprising all of Merck’s functional fillers.

The company will also update the documentation for its raw materials to coincide with the realignment of its brand structure. This update includes technical data sheets, specifications, cosmetic ingredients dossiers and online presence.
