Sunflower Shoot Active makes debut at in-cosmetics Asia

Mibelle Biochemistry has unveiled a natural alternative to Q10 at in-cosmetics Asia, which took place in Bangkok this week. Sunflower Shoot Active, INCI name Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Sprout Extract (and) Sodium Benzoate (and) Aqua/Water, has been certified by Ecocert and is claimed to energise and protect the skin against the signs of ageing by reactivating ATP production, regulating gene expression to protect the cellular matrix and delay the senescence of skin cells.

The active is a purified extract of organic sunflower shoots, which are said to contain higher levels of nutrients than mature plants.

Mibelle has conducted gene array analysis as well as in vitro studies on fibroblasts and reconstructed epidermis to show that the active can stimulate the cellular production of energy and antioxidants, reinforce the skin barrier and stimulate the build-up of ECM proteins by inhibiting their degradation by MMP.
