NaTrue certifies Merck pigments

Merck KGaA has announced that its cosmetic pigments now meet the NaTrue label criteria


Merck KGaA has announced that its cosmetic pigments now meet the NaTrue label criteria. A recent evaluation carried out by the Brussels-based platform found the relevant Merck products to be suitable for use in both natural and organic cosmetics.

The evaluated pigments are manufactured using only natural and nature-identical raw materials. Additionally, the manufacturing process only involves chemical reactions permitted by NaTrue including hydrolysis and oxidation.

According to Merck, manufacturers of natural cosmetics can now use nearly all of the products in its cosmetic pigments range without safety concerns.
