Luxury packaging specialist Pusterla Pollards has further enhanced the sustainability profile of teapigs’ popular advent calendar with the use of a new board.

While previous versions of the calendar have been manufactured from board made from 100% recycled content, the 2021 calendar has been created using board from agricultural waste, which is also certified as home compostable.

Pollards is the first UK luxury packaging manufacturer to use this material.

“This latest development not only demonstrates our commitment to devising packaging solutions that combine aesthetics, functionality and sustainability, but also our flexibility in sourcing alternative materials to counter existing supply chain challenges,” commented Pusterla Pollards’ Sales Manager Ian Bason.

The teapigs advent calendar retains its unique concertina design, with four sections incorporating three tea bags on either side. The calendar is then wrapped in an outer carton which features eye-catching graphics and teapigs branding.

As part of its complete design, manufacture and fulfilment service, Pollards also packed the calendars with 24 different tea varieties for onward despatch to consumers.

“The latest version of our advent calendar retains the quirkiness and originality that reflect the teapigs brand, while at the same time supporting our wider sustainability commitments,” said Matt Charles, the company’s Supply Chain Manager.

“As before, Pollards’ design, manufacturing and fulfilment capabilities have played a crucial role in the calendar’s success.”
