From goth-inspired eyes to Choupette cosplay, here’s how fashion’s elite payed homage to Karl Lagerfeld
This year’s Met Gala recognised one of fashion’s greats with the theme Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
The German designer, who passed away in 2019 aged 85, enjoyed a 65-year career in fashion, most famously reinventing Chanel in the 1980s.
A somewhat controversial tribute, given the subject’s derogatory comments over body positivity and the #MeToo movement, Lagerfeld’s signature monochrome aesthetic presented attendees with a wealth of reference points to interweave into their own styles.
