Bioyouth-EGT protects against photoageing

Ingredients

Bioyouth-EGT is an antiphotoageing and antioxidant active ingredient from Bloomage Biotech, obtained via the multi-fermentation of Hericium erinaceus and Tricholoma matsutake.

This multi-fermentation can increase the yield of L-ergothioneine (EGT), which is a sulfur-containing derivative of the amino acid histidine, a stable antioxidant and cytoprotective agent in the human body.

EGT can be transferred inside mitochondria by the transporter OCTN1 in skin keratinocytes and fibroblasts, imparting its antioxidant function there.

Bioyouth-EGT has been proven to protect the DNA in skin cells from the effects of UVA, protect mitochondria from UVA damage, decrease UV-induced cell apoptosis, eliminate the free radicals produced by UV and reduce the appearance of brown spots.
