CEW (UK) unveils its 2011 Beauty Awards Winners

The winners of the 2011 CEW (UK) Beauty Awards were announced on Friday with Chanel, Liz Earle, Dr Organic and Lanolips all scooping multiple awards. A total of 304 products in 24 categories were entered this year and were voted for by over 600 CEW (UK) members.

Chanel picked up honours in the Best Men’s Fragrance (Prestige) for Chanel Bleu and Best New Make-up Product for Lips (Prestige) with Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour. Botanical beauty brand Liz Earle, meanwhile scooped Best British Brand and Best New Haircare/Styling Product (Prestige) for its Botanical Shine Shampoo.

The popularity of natural brands continued with Dr. Organic winning Best New Everyday Facial Skincare Product (Mass) and sharing top honours with Lanolips for the Best New Brand (Mass) award. Lanolips’ 101 Ointment also picked up award for Best New Skincare Treatment (Mass).

This year the awards were sponsored by Superdrug, which will carry a selection of winning products in store and on a specially created online CEW (UK) Beauty Awards shop, which can be accessed through Superdrug’s website.

Further exposure will take place at Harrods, which is running displays and promotions for the winning prestige products to coincide with its Beauty Month, and World Duty Free will be running airport promotions across the country throughout June.

The awards were also promoted on QVC: the home shopping channel dedicated an evening programme to the winning and finalist products it sells, and Latestinbeauty.com is offering its members a limited edition Beauty Insiders Choice box of samples, containing a selection of winning samples.

“The awards were established to recognise innovation in the beauty industry and are highly significant,” commented CEW (UK) president, Caroline Neville. “Having third party endorsement from CEW adds authenticity to the product.”
