CREMER Care is committed to sustainability and focused on the responsible use of natural resources in its daily business. The company understands that health, environmental awareness and traceability play just as large a role for consumers as quality and efficacy.

The controversial use of palm oil (PO), palm kernel oil (PKO) and their derivatives in cosmetics has been greatly discussed over the past years. Deforestation of the rain forests, unjustified dispossession of farmers, and child labour have all been rightfully addressed. CREMER, as one of the biggest manufacturers of fatty acid esters in Europe, is aware of its responsibility in this business and already joined the Round Table of Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in 2007; it was granted the RSPO SCCS supply chain certificate in 2011. In addition, CREMER recently became a member of the FONAP (Forum for Sustainable Palm Oil), an alliance of companies, associations and non-governmental organisations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland which seeks to work together to devise viable ways to improve practices in the palm oil sector. This membership underlines its commitment to more transparency in the supply chain of palm oil and palm kernel oil and an ambition to increase the proportion of segregated material to the greatest possible extent. CREMER is playing a pioneering role as a manufacturer of palm derived materials.

RSPO's Mass Balance (MB) system can be considered as an important first improvement with regard to more transparency in the supply chain of palm and palm kernel oil-based raw materials. And CREMER is today already able to supply IMWITOR, MIGLYOL, SOFTISAN and CremerCOOR types based on PO or PKO with Mass Balance certification. Some of the products even comply with the Identity Preserved (IP) or Segregation (SG) standards.

RSPO certified materials, avoidance of palm-derived ingredients or environment-friendly processes, such as cold emulsification, are among the topics covered with CREMER's product portfolio, which comprises emulsifiers, hard fats, emollients and multifunctional ingredients for all kinds of personal care and cosmetic applications from the production facilities in Germany.

Flexibility is also a strength of CREMER's; it can create tailor-made solutions together with customers, either based on non-palm products or on certified segregated feedstock.
