Health Canada's Renelle Briand speaks to Cosmetics Business about the country's safety regulations for cosmetics
Canada’s regulatory agency, Health Canada, is set to crack down on unproven claims by cosmetics and health product manufacturers. New legislation is now under consultation until October 24.
“Now more than ever, Canadians have access to a wide range of self-care products that they can use to maintain or improve their health,” Renelle Briand, Media Relations Officer at Health Canada, told Cosmetics Business.
“Self-care products include natural health products, over-the-counter drugs, and cosmetics that are available directly to consumers without needing to consult a health practitioner.”
