Cosmetic science company Royal DSM and Metabolic Explorer subsidiary Metex Nøøvista have announced the start of commercial production of their new cosmetic grade of propanediol (PDO), called Tilamar PDO with Nøøvista.
The product is 100% biosourced from non-GMO feedstocks and is the first European-made cosmetic grade PDO.
The commercial availability of Tilamar PDO with Nøøvista is the outcome of a long-term partnership, which saw a pre-launch in September 2020.
Close to 1,000 samples were distributed to formulators worldwide to pre-test the representative products, and now both samples and the industrial product itself have been delivered to DSM to help it support its customers.
