The facial mask category has experienced an upsurge in usage, from 35% in 2013 to 39% in 2014, according to Mintel research in the US. Now more than an emerging category trend, Mintel researchers suggest the rise in popularity of masks stems from a wider industry move toward more customised, diagnostic-led skin care solutions.
