The UK's medical regulator is urging consumers to consider the risks before undergoing surgery to become 'beach body ready'.

The General Medical Council (GMC), an independent organisation that aims to protect patients improve medical practice across the UK, has issued a new alert to consumers thinking of altering their bodies for cosmetic results.

Mary Agnew, the GMC’s Assistant Director for Standards, said: “It’s the time of year when people are looking forward to summer holidays, and to relaxing on the beach.
