How I became the Head of Beauty at Harrods

Mia Collins is the Head of Beauty at Harrods, one of the world's leading luxury department stores.

With a career spanning nearly 14 years at the Knightsbridge, London, retailer, she has led, along with Harrods' Beauty Director Annalise Fard, the ambitious 90,000sqft beauty department revamp and take the British landmark outside of the capital with the H Beauty stores.

"We strive to be leaders in the beauty industry – and specifically luxury beauty," she tells Cosmetics Business. "Whilst that goal hasn’t changed, what that means and requires has evolved a tremendous amount and my role has evolved and grown with it."

Here, in association with CEW UK, Collins shares what she believes are the most essential skills a cosmetics industry professional can possess and how she became a leader in beauty.
