Dr Carol Treasure is the Co-founder and Managing Director of XCellR8, an animal free testing laboratory based in Daresbury, UK.

XCellR8 conduct safety tests for a number of cosmetic ingredients manufacturers and high street retailers including Lush, The Body Shop and Croda.

Here, she talks to Cosmetics Business about how the ban has affected the industry and the innovators behind the science of animal-free adaptations of tests for skin sensitisation
