Jo Malone takes inspiration from Madagascar for new fragrance launch

The latest fragrance from the British brand is blended with hero ingredients from the African island

British fragrance brand Jo Malone London has introduced a new scent designed to take customers on an olfactory trip to the African island of Madagascar.

The new Cologne Intense Vetiver & Golden Vanilla (from £78) blends two of the country’s hero ingredients, reflecting its vanilla-swept coastlines in the island’s northeast region.

Meanwhile, the formula also blends notes of cardamom and grapefruit tea.

“Through Cologne Intense we want to whisk you away on a journey using ingredients that have a true, strong story,” said Celine Roux Jo Malone London’s Global Head of Fragrance.

“We consciously magnified the name of the new fragrance with ‘golden’ to call to mind the warmth of the scent.

“It’s glowing and bountiful, like the island of Madagascar itself.”

The brand recommends layering the new scent with its Blackberry & Bay, Black Cedarwood & Juniper and English Oak & Hazelnut fragrances.
