Philanthropic worker and Victoria Secret Angel Josephine Skriver has been announced as Maybelline New York’s latest global spokesmodel.

Skriver will take part in her first campaign this month for the launch of the brand’s Super Cushion 2-in-1 foundation.

Danish-born, the fashion model made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week in 2011 aged 18 and famously closed Prada’s show in Milan in the same year.

She said: “Being part of the Maybelline New York family is a dream come true.

“I am honoured to represent not only Maybelline, but al of the girls who are wearing Maybelline, because these young girls are the future.

“They are powerful and beautiful, and that to me is what Maybelline stands for.”

Since her modelling career took off, the 25-year-old has worked in campaigns for Bulgari, Gucci, Max Mara, Michael Kors and Tom Ford, and collaborated with top photographers in the industry.

Leonardo Chavez, Global Brand President for Maybelline New York, added: “We are beyond thrilled to have Josephine as part of our Maybelline family.

A partnership with Josephine was completely organic because she resonates with our global customer and is a dynamic and fresh addition to our roster of talent.

“She embodies determination, grit, energy and spirit, while having a true connection to New York and the dream of making it happen in this city.”

Having been raised by LGBTQ parents, Skriver has been a campaigner for LGBTQ rights globally and is involved with charitable organisations such as Family Equality Council, COLAGE and Keep A Child Alive.
