The UK market for hair products in 2019 is estimated to be worth US$1,939.8m and it appears to be a very active and innovative market sector. Hair care starts with a clean and healthy scalp.
Scalps may suffer from dryness and flaking, irritation, itchiness, dandruff and excessive production of sebum. According to Alpha Chemicals, scalp health is a major trend.
The scalp is seen as an extension of the face, especially for those with balding or thinning hair. Alpha suggests hyaluronic acid as a moisturising agent and caffeine to block the effects of 5-a-dihydrotestosterone, the cause of genetic hair loss.
