What is male pattern baldness?

A dense head of hair is the result of an equilibrium between loss and regrowth. Loss is a natural phenomenon: a healthy person loses between 50 and 125 hairs every day.

Accelerated hair loss, whose scientific name is alopecia, is seen as a sign of premature ageing and therefore can have considerable effects on the quality of life of individuals affected.
