Organic Monitor has announced the details of a new summit in New York dedicated to making the beauty industry more sustainable.


Organic Monitor has announced the details of a new summit in New York dedicated to making the beauty industry more sustainable.

The Sustainable Cosmetics Summit (24TH-26TH March, 2010) is a three-day event, comprising a two-day conference and a day of interactive workshops.

Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients founder Horst Rechelbacher will open the event with a keynote speech entitled Inconvenient Truths for the Beauty Industry, while other speakers include Mike Indursky, chief marketing & strategy officer, Burt’s Bees, who will speak about how sustainability can be integrated into a company’s business ethos.

Other areas to be covered include eco-labels and regulatory developments, ethical marketing and investments and green formulations.

The two interactive workshops will be steered by Organic Monitor’s head of technical research, Judi Beerling, and will provide a detailed analysis of natural and cosmetic standards.
