Organic Monitor says distribution is fueling natural C&T growth
Explains healthy growth in North America
Organic Monitor has announced a healthy growth in the North American market for natural personal care, and says that this is occurring because of increased distribution. It says that natural and organic brands are expanding into new channels as shelf space in natural food shops reached saturation point.
Brands such as Burt’s Bees and Yes to Carrots have grown considerably in drugstores while premium brands such as Dr Hauschka have become more popular in beauty retailers. Organic Monitor also says that natural brands are making inroads in mass market retailers, encouraging supermarkets to develop private label ranges.
As will be indicated in the upcoming Sustainable Cosmetics Summit, held in New York on 17-19 May, it can be seen that the North American market for natural personal care products has recently reached $5.4bn in value with most revenues coming from outside the traditional channel of natural food shops.
