Oriflame turns focus to India

Swedish direct sales company Oriflame is increasing its focus on India and plans to launch 200 new products in the region following its acquisition of a factory in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.

“We really believe in the market of India,” said Niklas Frisk, MD of Oriflame India. “We are opening more offices here. Also, this year we will be launching 200 new products in the country. By 2016 we want to reach 90% of the population.”

The company currently sells 550 of its products into the Indian market, including skin care, hair care, personal care, colour cosmetics and fragrance. The new facility is 5,679sqm in size and is currently being renovated and upgraded.

Frisk added that Oriflame was focused on long term strong growth in the region: “The India team is working hard to coordinate all aspects of this complex project to ensure that we have a very strong foundation to work with for being able to launch wellness products in the Indian market in the coming years.”
