Protameen enters the age of aquarius

Protameen Chemicals has created two new products. Pro-aqua ISL (Isosteareth 200 Linoleate) is a sister product to its Protachem ISL. According to Protameen, Pro-aqua ISL can be incorporated into formulations to produce clear shampoos, styling gels and pump sprays with enhanced shine and manageability. This effect was unattainable with Protachem ISL because the ingredient’s highly lipophilic nature excluded it from use in surfactant-based hair and skin care formulations. Pro-aqua ISL also imparts exceptional skin feel and moisturisation benefits to body washes, hand washes and gelled after-sun conditioners, without the worry of solubilising the conditioning agents.

Pro-aqua ISP (Isosteareth 200 Palmitate), like its established companion product Protachem ISP, is designed to deliver a more substantive feel to the skin. It can be incorporated into water-based formulations producing aesthetically pleasing, clear products. This enhanced substantivity makes Pro-aqua ISP suitable for use in formulations such as clear deodorant, water-based lip products, non-alcoholic toners and antibacterial hand gels. It boasts a pleasing after-feel, which is smooth without being oily.

In addition, both Pro-aqua ISL and Pro-aqua ISP can be used as an emulsifier or co-emulsifier in o/w lotions and creams and are available in a readily water-soluble pastille form.
