Pure C perfection

Helena Rubinstein (HR) is targeting loss of skin radiance and luminosity with C-Genius. Radiance is the result of several parameters, the main ones being good epidermal renewal, an active cutaneous micro-circulation and homogeneous pigmentation. HR says the skin's natural radiance can therefore be improved by exfoliation, activation of the cutaneous microcirculation and use of clarifying agents.

To address this HR says it has used patented technology to stabilize pure vitamin C - known for its clarifying, depigmenting, moisturising, anti-free radical and anti-pollution properties - and procysteine, said to stimulate the activity of cutaneous desquamating enzymes.

The vitamin C stabilization process used involves steric stabilization, which consists of using a molecule with an affinity for the vitamin C molecule, without the two molecules fusing. HR says this means the vitamin C molecule is therefore immediately bioavailable and that it can be introduced in any form of texture in a stable manner. It also means the vitamin C can be used in a high concentration.

In tests visible marks, red patches and uneven surfaces on the skin were found to decrease significantly after four weeks' use. In self evaluation tests immediate results and post four week results were very positive on parameters including skin glow, smoothness, firmness and healthy appearance.
