PZ Cussons has announced that Chris Davis, Group COO and board member, will be retiring from 27 September.

His final day coincides with the 2017 Annual General Meeting, where he will not stand for re-election.

His responsibilities will be absorbed by PZ Cussons’ CEO Alex Kanellis, CFO Brandon Leigh and other members of the Executive Committee.

“The board wishes to express its thanks to Chris, who will retire later this year, for the significant contribution which he has made to PZ Cussons over 24 years with the company,” said Caroline Silver, Chair of PZ Cussons.

Davis was Managing Director of the PZ Cussons’ Australian business before being appointed to the board in 2006.

He took up his present role as COO in 2013 and has played a leading role in the company’s recent business transformation programme.

“After leaving the company, Chris will be returning to his native Australia and, on behalf of the board and the wider business, I would like to wish him a long and happy retirement,” said Silver.

Non-executive Director Ngozi Edozien will also retire from the board with effect from the 2017 Annual General Meeting.

She was appointed to the board in January 2012 and her second three-year term of office expires this year.

Silver said: “We would also like to extend our thanks to Ngozi for the input and wise counsel, which she has given during her six years on the board, both in respect of Nigeria but also more broadly, given her extensive international business experience. We wish her well in the future and thank her for her commitment to PZ Cussons.”
