RB seeks partners in innovation

Reckitt Benckiser, whose C&T brands include Clearasil and Veet, is launching the RB-Idealink programme, a new initiative to increase innovation sourced from outside the company. The company is seeking to complement its existing technology links by sourcing products close to the market and building its licensing programme.

“The core of RB-Idealink is our new website, www.rb-idealink.com,” says Kevin McFarthing, global director of strategic alliances. “It goes into quite some detail about the technologies and products we're looking for and provides inventors and potential alliance partners with a simple process for submitting information to the company.” Through this Reckitt Benckiser aims to link investors with the end product, so the phrase “your idea in a consumer's hands” is being used in association with product.

The programme will also include other initiatives and publicity which will be rolled out in the coming months and will be primarily aimed at spreading the word about Reckitt Benckiser's drive to strengthen its new product pipeline using externally accessed innovation.
