Registration for the world’s most important personal care and cosmetic ingredient exhibition, in-cosmetics, is now open. The 2014 show, which takes place in Hamburg from 1–3 April, will bring together more than 600 exhibitors who will showcase new ingredients, products and research developments to upwards of 8,000 visitors.

Brazil in the spotlight

Celebrating the year of collaboration between Germany and Brazil, a new Country Focus, sponsored by Beraca, launches in 2014 and is dedicated to the vibrant Brazilian market – the world’s third largest personal care and cosmetic market according to Euromonitor.

The Country Focus, in association with ABIHPEC (The Brazilian Association for the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Industry) includes a packed programme of events. It will educate and inspire visitors via the Brazil pavilion organised with the support of ABIHPEC and housing first-time exhibitors from the country; exclusive educational programme content; the Brazil Trail highlighting original projects, unique ingredients and exhibitor formulations; examples of innovative skincare, colour cosmetics and hair care beauty products from Brazil handpicked by Mintel and a Networking Zone with a Brazilian bar.

Exclusive insights and tips

2014’s extensive Educational Programme has been designed to ensure marketers, formulators, cosmetic scientists, brand owners and R&D professionals stay ahead of the competition.

Nine half-day Workshops will help attendees get to grips with some of the industry’s biggest formulation challenges, as well as offer advice on tapping into new markets. A brand new pre-show Workshop has been added for 2014 in cooperation with the IFSCC which will explore recent perspectives in nanotechnology.

Free-to-attend Marketing Trends presentations are set to investigate hot topics such as haircare, dermatology and professional skincare. Meanwhile, visitors can hear direct from the exhibitors in Innovation Seminars, which have been expanded this year with the addition of a third theatre.

In the Innovation Zone, visitors can also discover the latest products and formulations launched in the six months leading up to the show, as well as attend live demonstrations by exhibitors.

Awarding creative thinking

in-cosmetics celebrates the industry’s finest with a number of awards and innovation initiatives, the winners of which will be announced on the second night of the show.

The Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award will be presented to honour three companies that demonstrate innovation in the development of functional or active ingredients. Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine will also present its Best New Ingredient award.

New for 2014, in-cosmetics has partnered with Beiersdorf to launch the ‘Innovation Pitch’ where exhibitors submit their most creative ideas to the R&D team at the company. Shortlisted companies will be invited to give a short presentation on their idea and the winners will be awarded a ‘backstage pass’ to the Beiersdorf facilities.

Also new, The Green Ingredient Award in association with Organic Monitor has been launched to highlight the increasingly important place green ingredients have in cosmetics today.
